One of the benefits of living close to Clemson University is the international visitors that come to visit and perform. This week the African Children Choir came to visit and the family went to see them at the Brooks Center. It was extraordinarily moving- the children were aged about 6-12 and were all from areas in Africa which had experienced war and upheaval of a variety of kinds. They were so vital and professional. I especially liked the South African song they sung- the harmonies of songs from that country really touch me deeply. Many in the audience were moved to tears it was very moving! Neil enchanted the children in the row in front of us by folding tiny cranes, roses and t-rexes.
Today is Valentines Day and we have awoken to handcrafted cards from the children. After an awful day yesterday of coughing and hacking continuously - I feel a little better.
